How it works
Disposable vapes banned from 1st June
From 1 June 2025, disposable vapes will be banned from sale in the UK – but we’re already helping thousands of retailers prepare. Our all-in-one vape recycling service includes UN-rated bins, secure point-of-sale tubes in a range of sizes, and a nationwide swap-out collection system. Everything is handled here in the UK, with full traceability and documentation to ensure you stay legally compliant.

Order, Collect, Recycle, Repeat
HAZ TECH Vape Recycling is so simple. You can order a recycling starter pack from Haz Tech for your business so that staff and customers can drop their used vapes into the supplied receptacle, much as they might with batteries.
When this is filled, you can empty it into the supplied clip-top drum following the instructions provided. When that is ultimately filled, simply order an ‘exchange’ on this website. We will then collect the drum, leaving you with a replacement clean, empty drum, and we will start again. You have the reassurance that your vape and WEEE waste is being collected and managed responsibly with maximum recycling.
What happens to the vapes we collect?
We work to strict recycling and health and safety protocols. Our expert wee waste and vape recycling team sorts the vapes by type and then dismantles each vape manually. The vapes are stripped to their component parts, with plastic, aluminium, copper, and lithium separated, bulked and then sent to approved recyclers to be fully recycled. The only part of the used vape that goes to energy from waste is the glycol-contaminated coil and gauze.
Lithium vape batteries are fully recycled, with all component parts, such as metals and plastics, being recycled for new material supply. The only components that must be sent to energy from waste are glycol nicotine-contaminated gauze, the by-product of which powers local homes and businesses.
